Michael Meyers is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, musician, and former stand-up comedian whose work explores hope, memory, redemption, and the unexpected relationships that transform lives. His feature screenplays Blue Eighteen and The Iditarod Band, along with his short screenplays Time Piece and Cut Bait, have received multiple screenplay awards, including Best Screenplay honors. His stage plays Smoke Your Secrets, Flint and Stone, and Underground Live! have been produced in Oregon, and Smoke Your Secrets was published in the literary journal Cirque.
Before focusing on dramatic writing, Michael earned a Goldie Award from the Alaska Broadcasters Association, performed as a touring musician with The River City Ramblers, and worked as a stand-up comedian—experiences that continue to shape the humor, music, and humanity found throughout his stories. He lives near Portland, Oregon, with his wife, where he continues to develop feature films, stage plays, and short-form projects.
